How to to do a fishbone plait step by step tutorial
  1. You will need: A comb; two hairbands; HAIR!
  2. Place the hair in to a ponytail using the comb and one hairband (this is optional, however, doing a fishbone plait without having put hair in a ponytail is somewhat advanced!)
  3. Separate ponytail into two even sections
  4. Grip the two sections with your two hands in a fist, with your four fingers gripping the hair, and your thumbs pointing upwards.
  5. Using your right (or left) index finger, section off a small amount from the far right hand side of the hair.
  6. Move this section over to the left hand whilst still gripping the two sections.
  7. Merge this section with the left hand section, placing it on the inside of the left hand section.
  8. Place your right thumb on top and apply pressure to the small section of hair, just crossed to ensure it doesn't move.
  9. Use your left index finger to section off a small amount from the far left hand side of the hair. This small section should be around the same size as the small section taken from the right hand side.
  10. Merge this section with the right hand section, placing it on the inside of the right hand section.

  2. Hi mike, thanks for your comment. I will post some pice of a boys braided style tomorrow. Also, the blog entry 'single plaits: switching it up' was in a boys head. Thanks for your suggestion though. I'll look into some more male styles for different types of hair!
