The 'TameYourMane' Mission

It seems only right for me to begin this blog by saying: Thank you for visiting, and I hope what you find here is of use to you. Feel free to return whenever you see fit! 

I feel it necessary to quickly introduce myself, and reveal the exciting aims of this blog. 

Ok, so my name is Melody, and at the time of writing this I'm 20! For as long as I can remember, I've always enjoyed hair. Not necessarily my own- mine can be a right pain at times. But I enjoy styling others! Deffo. 

Quick story- I must have been in about.. Year One, which means I was about 6! My friend L had a long, luscious mane, and she decided to let someone play in it one day. BIG MISTAKE. Because that person couldn't fix it back to how it was (I think it was in a pony tail with a plait and a hairband at the end.) Cut a long story short, she was bricking home time because she thought she'd get in trouble for letting someone play in her hair (you know, knits and all that). But who did she call for help. Only yours truly. I quick sharp fixed it back and her parents didn't notice!

So, for as long as I can remember: Hair, it's my thing (for anyone who watches BET) 

Which brings me to the topic for this blog. I'm always doing people's hair, and for the past few months I made a decision to start taking photos to document my work. Mainly, I deal with Afro hair, often braiding or cornrowing. But I like all different types of hair, and doing different types of styles- thats just what my clients want, so I go with it!

So, over time, I will present the creative styles I have done, how long they take, some pics, some tutorials, perhaps...Who knows!
